My Wonderful Weekend

Firstly! I had to stay back after school on Friday to meet Mdm Esther Teo. There were about 10 Sec 2s and 4 Sec 3 students there. She wanted us to attend a Maths Olympiad training course, which will cost us $120, and she also wanted us to join the Maths Society of our school. I think this is a very good opportunity for me to get more CCA points and experience.

Then, later in the evening, we had cell group at my place again! This time, Weige joined us! Rhonda preached about having confidence. She preached about 7 points mainly.

1. Humility does not equal to Humiliation

2. Putting off your sinful nature does not equal to Putting down yourself

3. Self-denial does not equal to Self-degration

4. Unworthiness does not equal to Worthlessness

5. Self-Love does not equal to Selfishness

6. Self-affirmation does not equal to Self-Conceit, and finally

7. Self-awareness does not equal to Self-Absorb

Then we discussed in groups of 2 or 3s about this seven points. After cell group, we went to a nearby shop to fellowship. On the next day, Saturday, I went to Parkway Parade to get some stuff to prepare for Jun Sen's birthday! After that, we headed down to expo for service, where Pastor Kong preached about faith and confidence! Finally, we went to Popeye's at Changi Airport to fellowship.

Then, on Sunday, I had to wake up at 7 45a.m. to accompany Weige and Wesley to service. After service, my parents fetched Weige and I from Kembangan MRT station. They fetched Weige back home first, then we went to East Coast Park, where my sister and her cell group were. After eating lunch there, we drove to Chinatown to go shopping!

Well, it was quite crowded over there and I felt dizzy at the end of the day. Also, something interesting happened over there. There was this mother with her daughter. While they were walking, her daughter's slippers fell off. She ran back to get her slippers and when her mother turned back and saw what had happened, she just said " Wah Lao eh!" After hearing that, I kept laughing! Her reaction was just so funny!

After shopping, we drove down to Singapore General Hospital to visit Marcus, my sister's cell group member, as he had injured himself while cycling at East Coast Park and was sent to the hospital. Well, this sums up my weekend!

FIRE DRILL!

I just came back home from school! Well, Firstly, Haziq, my classmate, told the class that there would be a fire drill today. The whole class became excited and we started guessing when the fire drill would begin.
Firstly, It was our Design & Technology lessons. Since it was early in the morning, we thought that it would not be during our Design & Technology lessons. Then, we had Maths lessons. Everyone in the class really hoped that the fire alarm would ring during Maths lessons, but Ms Lim, our Maths teacher, told us that the fire alarm will never ring during her lessons!

Indeed, the fire alarm did not ring. Next, we had Literature. The whole class started to get excited as the day was coming to an end! Mr Daniel Tan was quite disappointed when he knew that the class wanted the fire alarm to go off during his lessons. Suddenly, Mr Daniel Tan wanted Nicholas and Prathaban to come forward and act out a poem.

At first, both of them were reluctant to go forward and act, but in the end, both of them did. It was Prathaban's turn first. He was asked to act out what he thought a bent double was and he did. After that, it was Nicholas' turn. Fortunately for him, while Mr Tan was explaining to the class what he was suppose to act, the fire alarm went off! He was elated! And so were we as we did not expect the fire alarm to go off in the last fifteen minutes!

Everyone packed our bags, lined up in pairs and proceeded down to the new school field!

After we reached the school field, the whole school assembled there and we were dismissed later on. After that, Nicholas, Andrew and I ate lunch together and did our maths project. It was so irritating and frustrating especially without Prathaban and Adrian as they went for CCA.

We had a lot of disagreements and ended up with argueing with each other, but in the end, we managed to complete the most of it. I am so tired now! And I still have so much homework to do! How I wish I had all the time in the world! Alright, I guess I should go and do my homework now!

A Great Friday

Friday was a great and interesting day! Firstly, Cell Group at my place! Rhonda preached about visions and goals. It really set me thinking about my goals for 2008. Then, we completed our SMARTER Goals card! (Specific, Measurable, Action plan, Realistic, Time bound, Expectation Management and Revelation.) Finally, we laid hands on our SMARTER goals card and prayed for our goals for 2008.

Also, we had some Korean visitors from Yoido Full Gospel Church - The largest church in history! It has close to a million church members!

The Korean visitors are from the church's worship team! After knowing that they are from the church's worship team, we immediately requested for a performance! It was great! They could really sing and play their instruments well! Also, they taught us some interesting Korean words.

Then, we walked to the nearby prata shop for fellowship. The price of the food there increased greatly due to the increase of flour price! Also, we had a hard time communicating with the Koreans! We had to speak very simple English for the whole night. I think everyone got used to speaking such English after that! The Koreans could hardly understand us so we ordered for them instead. I guessed they did not enjoy their food as they had weird expressions each time they tasted their food. But they did enjoy one thing - Mee Goreng!
Also, their actions are really dramatic and the way they spoke to us was really funny! I was practically laughing through out the whole time! It was really fun with them! If only I could have more experiences with other foreigners! It would be great!

First Week at School

My first week at school started on a Wednesday! This means that I only have 3 days of school this week! This year, I am in class 2B, which means I am still in the same class as my Secondary One classmates. I felt quite excited to be back at school again because I can see all my friends again after the long but fulfilling 2 months holiday. Well, I started my school term badly... On Wednesday, while I was walking to school, I suddenly remembered that I had packed my bag for a Monday instead of a Wednesday! So I quickly ran back home to pack my bag again. The dumbest thing was that we did not even use our textbooks on that day!
Also, It was the Secondary One students' first day at Victoria School. This year's Secondary One students are quite weird... They wear their socks up high and they seem to be afraid of us even though we were not doing anything. We selected our class managment committee on Wednsday too! David and Kheng Jing are now the monitors of my class! Both Adrian and Nicholas were also chosen to be subject representatives too. Fortunately, I was not chosen for any post! Thursday was another boring day... We did not have any lessons but we still had homework! I think I am still in the holiday mood... I guess I have to quickly adapt back to school life!
Today was a more interesting day because we had lessons! We started the day with Biology lessons (Mr Gabriel is still teaching us)! Then we had History... with this new teacher (forgot his name) followed by Mother Tongue and English! I think that this week was quite a boring week... We were slacking in our classrooms most of the time.
